A short commercial strip southwest of the Town Hall across from the southwest corner of the green appears to be deteriorating somewhat. It could be a potential site for development in the future and what locates there will have an impact on the character of the green. The Munson House, Congregational Church, Lutheran Church, and the Reverend John Trumbull House all are listed on the State Register. Listing them on the National Register of Historic Places would give them additional protection.
