Threats Details:

The major threat to the green is from traffic and noise. Cedar and Main Streets are very busy, the state has raised the possibility of widening Main Street, which would take some of the Green. According to the Town Planner, Edmund Meehan, the Town is committed to preserving the residential areas around the Green and avoiding commercial intrusions. The Green itself is zoned R-12 (residential), but this does not appear to create any threat; other public uses are similarly zoned.
