Threats: Road Expansion
Threats Details: 

Route 6 is a major highway and efforts are being made along its entire length to improve it. When plans were made to upgrade it through Brooklyn, there was tremendous community concern about its impact on the green. The matter is still not resolved. The Department of Transportation is conducting an impact study. In the meantime, Brooklyn is creating a local historic district that will include the green, thereby providing it with more protection.
