Redding Town Green

The Redding Town Green is a long, flat, open area along Lonetown Road (Route 107) in Redding Center. It is bordered along its western side by undeveloped woodland. Several varieties of deciduous trees and a spruce tree have been planted along the road and around the town hall at the north end, but otherwise, it remains open. The memorial gazebo, dedicated to all Redding veterans, is a recent addition. It is situated about in the middle of the green and is surrounded by flowers. A bench is located under a very mature apple tree near the entrance to the Town Office Building. Near the intersection of Lonetown and Sanford Town Road is another bench, a flagpole and the town historical marker.

Both the town office building at the north end of the green and the police station at the south end are discretely located at the edges of the green and do not intrude on the large open space. Parking lots are hidden behind the buildings. The post office is located across Sanford Town Road from the town hall so the north end of the green receives a good deal of activity. Otherwise, there are no buildings across from the green along the long expanse of the Lonetown Road. For the most part, the green appears to be enveloped in woodlands.
